What "market-backed" actually means
Slant is not a sportsbook and does not place bets. It reads publicly available market prices as a signal about expected player performance.
Market-derived vs. modeled
Every projection is a blend of real market observations and a provider's statistical model, weighted by how much market coverage actually exists for that player — never presented as more certain than the data supports.
Confidence is never fabricated
When market coverage is thin or a data source hasn't posted yet, Slant says so directly rather than quietly falling back to old or placeholder numbers.
Freshness is enforced, not assumed
Weekly projections are checked against the current season and a freshness window before they're ever shown — stale data is replaced with an honest "not available yet" state.
No betting features
No odds as calls-to-action, no wagering, no "guaranteed winner" language anywhere in the product.

Common questions
Is Slant a betting app?
No. Slant reads publicly posted sportsbook prices as a data signal to build fantasy football projections. It never lets you place a bet and never shows betting calls-to-action.
What leagues does Slant support?
8, 10, 12, and 14-team leagues in standard, half-PPR, and full-PPR scoring, for both snake and auction drafts. You can import a roster from ESPN or Sleeper, or set one up manually.
Why do weekly projections say "not posted yet"?
The weekly data feed is intentionally seasonal — it activates as sportsbooks start posting game-week lines, typically one to two weeks before kickoff. Draft tools work year-round.
What does "modeled" mean next to a player?
It means that projection currently leans on a statistical model rather than live market pricing — usually because market coverage for that player is thin. Slant labels this rather than hiding it.
